William J. Leininger graduated from Fordham Law School with the rank of #1 in his Evening Division. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1975, and was subsequently admitted to the Bar of New Jersey several years later. He has been licensed to practice law in Florida since 1988.

He has handled over 6,000 divorces over the past 35 years, some involving assets of many millions of dollars, including many successful businesses and professional practices, as well as difficult custody cases.

He resides in Sarasota, Florida and New York City.

Mr. Leininger has appeared on the Phil Donahue Show, the Sally Jessy Raphael Show, the Today Show on the NBC network, the Morning Show on the CBS network, and other national television and radio programs, and has lectured on Divorce for over 35 years. Mr. Leininger became a Divorce Mediator in New York in 1994. Since then, he has mediated over 500 cases to completion. Mr. Leininger now divides his professional time between Sarasota and New York City.

Mr. Leininger is a founding member of the Academy of Professional Family Mediators, and is also a member of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators and the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation. He is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator.

Many of Mr. Leininger’s mediation cases have involved substantial assets, businesses and medical practices, sometimes involving millions of dollars. He also has an intimate knowledge of Civil Service pensions, including the pensions of New York City employees, as well as State and Federal retirement plans.

He schedules Divorce Mediations in Sarasota on Monday through Saturday between 9 AM and 8 PM so that clients do not have to take off from their business or employment.

The cost of a 60 minute initial consultation to see whether Pre-Suit Divorce Mediation is right for you and your spouse, is only $150. Most mediations cost between $2,500 and $6,000 total for both spouses, unless a business or difficult custody issues are present.
