The Mediator Services Coordinator exercises independent judgment and works in collaboration with and under the general supervision of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Director.

The Mediator Services Coordinator is responsible for a variety of court connected and pre-filing mediation related duties. This position is responsible for conducting family and dependency mediations throughout the 12th Judicial Circuit, as deemed necessary by the ADR Director. Additionally, in collaboration with the ADR Director, this position will eventually oversee the Citizen Dispute Settlement Programs in Sarasota and Manatee Counties, which includes working directly with the program directors to ensure the pre-filing and county civil mediation programs run effectively.

This position requires a well-organized multi-tasker to work collaboratively with the ADR Director and act as the court liaison for the volunteer mediators who provide services to the 12th Judicial Circuit’s Citizen Dispute Settlement Program and Family Pre-Filing Program. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, establishing and maintaining a process for evaluating the performance of volunteer mediators on an annual basis, reviewing volunteer applications, recruiting, accepting, and overseeing the volunteer mediators.

The Mediator Services Coordinator coordinates and/or conducts CME trainings for volunteer mediators. This position is primarily responsible for marketing and promotion of the Citizen Dispute Settlement and Family Pre-filing programs to the public, which includes public speaking and actively seeking out and providing program information to possible referral sources.
